“The Deer Stand” Film Premiere and Panel Discussion

Join FoHVOS and Sourland Conservancy for the premiere of "The Deer Stand," a short film by documentarian Jared Flesher of Hundred Year Films about deer management hunting. Participate in a lively Q & A session and panel discussion by the filmmaker, ecologists, farmers, biologists, law enforcement officials, hunters and others. Ted Stiles Hike at Honey Hollow

Meet at Pleasant Valley Road Parking Lot
Join us for the 10th annual memorial hike in honor of former FoHVOS president and environmental champion Ted Stiles. Ted was a passionate and dedicated conservationist whose vision and leadership allowed FoHVOS to preserve the thousands of acres of open space we protect and steward today. The hike will begin at 10 am and follow the route of the Honey Hollow trail, an environmentally sensitive and historically rich area of Baldpate Mountain. Coffee and bagels will be served after the hike in the parking lot. Email jsnyder@fohvos.org to sign up.

The New Jersey Invasive Species Strike Team (a project of FoHVOS), Friends of Princeton Open Space, and the Princeton Environmental Commission have collaborated to create this three-hour invasive species workshop. Learn about the underlying causes and effects of the invasive species problem, how to identify common and newly emerging invasive species, and track and report invasive species using the NJ Invasive Species Strike Team smartphone app. This workshop is offered on two separate dates, listed above, and will provide you with the skills needed to help us control the invasive species problem threatening our environment. Clean Communities Day is an opportunity for groups and individuals to raise money for the nonprofit of their choice while helping clean up Hopewell Valley. FoHVOS partners with Hopewell Township to participate in this statewide program to keep our public spaces clean. We welcome all groups and individuals to participate- we have over 100 designated cleanup sites! Email bcraighead@fohvos.org for more details.
