The Central Jersey Invasive Species Strike Team (CJISST) is recruiting volunteers to conduct invasive plant surveys and assist in eradication efforts.
Field Survey Teams are provided with trail maps of the survey site, a basic handheld GPS unit, and a handbook of target species. Team members hike trails while searching for and recording instances target species.
The collection of this data is essential to prioritizing eradication efforts, which will be concentrated on small, but highly threatening invasive plant populations.
Field training for volunteers in invasive species identification and the use of a basic handheld GPS is provided.
